Scrapbook Page Ideas: Your Memories and Special Occasions Will Make Great Scrapbooks
Some categories that make good scrapbooks: family history, heritage, and genealogy, vacations, day trips, friendships, pets, mother’s day, father’s day, visits to grandparents, and holidays such as the 4th of July. Parties are a fun topic for scrapbooking too. Take photos and document: birthdays, anniversaries, or any other celebration. These all make great scrapbook themes. And more and more paper designs and scrapbook kits have a wide selection of themes in styles that range from old-fashioned patterns to bright, bold and modern designs.

For layout ideas, look at other people's scrapbooks or scrapbook magazines and make sketches of your layout ideas before you start working on an album. Planning can give your scrapbook a cohesive, finished look. You can also make a materials-needed list as you sketch your layouts. If you get stuck with not knowing how to lay things out on your pages, there are lots of books with scrapbook ideas and magazines that can give you ideas. These books can also give you ideas for new uses of special papers and other scrapbooking extras. |

There are scrapbook templates and layout books for any occasion and scrapbook themes come in all varieties - even themes for scrapbooks for the men in your life, military themes, as well as policemen and firemen themes.
To go even further, incorporating elements of design: line or line weights, shapes, use of space, and color can add that extra look and feel to your projects. Other things to be aware of are what are called the principles of design: the area you want viewers to focus on (focal point), scale and proportion, balance, and there are others. Tools can be useful to help with some of these elements of design, such as color wheels (which have coordinated color schemes to help you). Or you can even pick out color schemes using house paint brochures from a local hardware store, paint store, or warehouse store to select attractive arrangements of colors that have been professionally designed to be used harmoniously.
Using different designs and themes for each of your scrapbooks makes the creation process that much more interesting and fun for you and for your friends and family when they see your finished work.
