Family Tree & Heritage Scrapbooks
One of the very best ways to share what you have learned about your ancestry is to make a family tree scrapbook. This kind of information about your ancestors, grandparents, and greatgrandparents used to be written in the family Bible. Today, a more universal way to share family information and memories is by using a scrapbook.
I know I have spent hours looking up my "roots" and there is more and more information available online. I have photos of ancestors that need to be displayed and a scrapbook is probably the best place I could put copies of those to share with my family.
In deciding about a family heritage scrapbook, I am looking at different sized scrapbook albums. If I print out family sheets from one of my online genealogy websites that I am a member of (such as Ancestry.com) I think I will need to have at least an 8.5 x 11 scrapbook. A 3-ring binder might be the best choice, since pages can be added really easily. Ancestry is a really great website to do searches for family trees. It has a membership fee to access all the information, but there are some things you can find for free there too. My all time favorite genealogy website has to be Rootsweb, which is sponsored by Ancestry, but has many places to search for information, including surname mailing lists you can join.
Or a simple and quick way to make a book like this is to add photos and write captions with a nice pen. All the other great scrapbook embellishments could be added too. Also, poems or family letters would be a nice addition.
Here are some of the 3-ring albums (and D-ring binders) that are popular at the moment:

12 x 12 Postbound Albums are great to use too. Pages can be added and removed in these albums, too. Here are a few that scrapbookers love:
