The original paper of the Western Hemisphere is still made today, just as it was in the 1300s. For hundreds of years, the Otomi Indians have searched the countryside for the bark from downed fig and mulberry trees. They wash it in the streams and then boil it in lime water. Then, they beat the damp, pliable fibers and lay them out in the sun to dry. Buy separate sheets or in bulk.

This beautiful, primitive paper can be used for bookmaking and bookbinding, decorative work, drawing, painting, collages, or painting with opaque paints, such as gouache. These make a scrapbook unique! Acid free. Individual sheets measure 16" × 24"  (41 cm × 61 cm).
